    Challenge:

    With a limited headcount to handle their software management challenges, this customer experience (CX) solutions provider sought a way to proactively assess and manage their software assets without breaking the bank.

    With some additional operating expense (OPEX) budget on hand, they reached out to their dedicated long-time partner, SHI, for help.

    Solution:

    SHI leveraged its experienced IT asset management (ITAM) team to complete a full assessment of the partner’s software environment. SHI’s collection process included:

    • Discovery – Utilizing JDisc Discovery and 365 Insights, we gained visibility into the partner’s entire Microsoft estate.
    • Inventory – We were able to take a full inventory of their software and hardware assets to get a better view of their licensing portfolio and identify usage.
    • Reporting – After completing a comprehensive data analysis, our ITAM experts were able to provide operational advice and recommendations on how to optimize the partner’s licensing position, eliminating unused licenses and resolving instances of duplication.

    Outcome:

    Our team of experts helped the partner achieve over $1.5M of realized hard cost savings on maintenance and support for Microsoft SQL Server and System Center.
